Our guest today was City Attorney Caroline Fowler, who was appointed after Brien Farrell left the office.

Caroline was born in England, and came to the US as a small child. She lived in southern CA before moving here with her husband. She has two sons.

We discussed the limits of use of the Brown Act, how the City Council’s agenda is created (the Mayor sees it last, to OK it), to how many city attorneys we have (6, plus1.5 paralegals and 6 legal secretaries). We discussed the categories of closed sessions, and how they’re reported out afterwards.

There were many other questions and bits of conversation, but you had to be there.
